Error Code: XM NO SIGNAL Is Displayed (With Navigation)




Symptom Troubleshooting: Error code: XM NO SIGNAL is displayed

Error code: XM NO SIGNAL is displayed (with navigation)

NOTE:

- Check the vehicle battery condition first.

- Check the connectors for poor connection or loose terminals.

1. Park the vehicle outside with a clear view of the southern horizon.

2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

3. Turn on the audio-navigation unit, and select XM radio.

Does the XM radio receive a signal?
YES - Reception interference operation is normal.

NO -
- USA models: Go to step 4.

- Canada models: Go to step 15.



4. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

5. Check the XM antenna 2P connector and AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector B (2P).

Are the connectors connected?
YES - Go to step 6.

NO - Reconnect the XM antenna 2P connector and AcuraLink control unit connector B (2P) connector, and recheck XM radio operation. If the signal is restored, the system is OK. If the signal is not restored, go to step 6.


6. Disconnect AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P).

7. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

8. Measure the voltage between AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P) terminal No. 1 and body ground.

Is there battery voltage?
YES - Go to step 9.

NO - Repair open in the wire between the No. 15 (10 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box and AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P) terminal No. 1.






9. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

10. Reconnect AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P).

11. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

12. Measure the voltage between AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P) terminals No. 2 and No. 3 and body ground individually.

Is there battery voltage?
YES - Go to step 13.

NO - Repair open in the wire between No. 12 (7.5 A) or No. 18 (7.5 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box and XM receiver connector A (32P) terminals No. 2 and No. 3.






13. Measure the voltage between AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P) terminal No. 28 and body ground.

Is there less than 0.2 V?
YES - Go to step 14.

NO - Repair open in the wire between AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P) terminal No 28 and body ground (G501).. Audio Wire Harness Connector And Harness Locations






14. Substitute known-good XM antenna. Removal and Replacement

Does the XM radio receive a signal?
YES - Replace the XM antenna. Removal and Replacement

NO - Substitute a known-good XM antenna lead. If the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) receives a signal, replace the original XM antenna lead. If the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) does not receive a signal, substitute a known-good AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver). Acura Link Control Unit (XM Receiver) Removal/Installation


15. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

16. Check the connection at XM antenna 2P connector and XM receiver connector B (2P).

Are the connectors connected?
YES - Go to step 17.

NO - Reconnect the connectors, and recheck XM radio operation. If the signal is restored, the system is OK. If the signal is not restored go to step 17.


17. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

18. Measure the voltage between XM receiver connector A (14P) terminal No. 1 and body ground.

Is there battery voltage?
YES - Go to step 19.

NO - Repair open in the wire between audio-navigation unit connector C (14P) terminal No. 1 and XM receiver connector A (14P) terminal No. 1.






19. Measure the voltage between XM receiver connector A (14P) terminal No. 2 and body ground.

Is there less than 0.2 V?
YES - Go to step 20.

NO - Repair open in the wire between audio-navigation unit connector C (14P) terminal No. 11 and XM receiver connector A (14P) terminal No. 11.






20. Measure the voltage between XM receiver connector A (14P) terminal No. 11 and body ground.

Is there less than 0.1 V?
YES - Go to step 21.

NO - Repair open in the wire between audio-navigation unit connector C (14P) terminal No. 11 and XM receiver connector A (14P) terminal No. 11.






21. Substitute a known-good XM antenna. Removal and Replacement

Does the XM radio receive a signal?
YES - Replace the XM antenna. Removal and Replacement

NO - Substitute a known-good XM antenna lead. If the XM receiver receives signal, replace the original XM antenna lead. If the XM receiver does not receive signal, substitute a known-good XM receiver. XM Receiver Removal/Installation (Without Acura Link)
