Rear Door Window Glass Weatherstrip: Service and Repair




Rear Door Glass Outer Weatherstrip Replacement

NOTE:

- Put on gloves to protect your hands.

- Take care not to scratch the door.

1. Remove these items:
- Door panel Rear Door Panel Removal/Installation

- Door panel bracket Service and Repair

- Plastic cover, as needed Service and Repair

- Door pad Rear Door Pad Replacement

- Rear pillar inner trim Service and Repair

2. Raise the glass fully.

3. Remove the screws (A, B).






4. From the inside of the door, slide the clips (A) on the door glass outer weatherstrip (B) to release the hooks (C) from the flanges (D) on the door panel.






5. Pull up the door glass outer weatherstrip (A), then remove the weatherstrip.

6. If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.

7. Before installing the weatherstrip, slide the clips to the released position as in step 4.

8. Install the rear door glass outer weatherstrip, and slide the clips securely on to the flanges.

9. Reinstall all remaining removed parts.
NOTE: Make sure the plastic cover on the door is installed properly and sealed around its outside perimeter to seal out water.
