VSA System Indicator Is On With No DTC Stored; MID Indicates CHECK HILL START ASSIST SYSTEM

SYMPTOM

The VSA system indicator comes on, the MID indicates CHECK HILL START ASSIST SYSTEM, no AcuraLink message displays that an indicator is on, and no DTCs are stored. The indicators go out after the engine is started.

PROBABLE CAUSE

The clutch pedal was repeatedly not released fully between 0-50 mph for three successive times while shifting, causing the VSA control unit to incorrectly judge a clutch switch malfunction and fail to store DTC 118 (clutch pedal position switch B).

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Update the VSA control unit software with the HDS then do the VSA sensor neutral position memorization.
