DTC Troubleshooting: B2249

DTC B2249: HIP Power Supply Abnormal (less than 9 V)

1. Connect the HDS to the DLC. How to Troubleshoot the AcuraLink (With AcuraLink)

2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

3. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0) and then back to ON (II).

4. Check for DTC with the HDS.

Is DTC B2249 indicated?
YES - Go to step 5.

NO - Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time.


5. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

6. Measure the voltage between AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P) terminals No. 1 and No. 28.

Is there 9 V or less?
YES - Faulty battery or +B line.

NO - Substitute a known-good AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver), AcuraLink Control Unit (XM Receiver) Removal/Installation and recheck. If the problem goes away, replace the original AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver).
