Error Code: XM NO SIGNAL Is Displayed (With XM Radio)




Symptom Troubleshooting: Error code: XM NO SIGNAL is displayed

Error code: XM NO SIGNAL is displayed

NOTE:

- Check the vehicle battery condition first. Testing and Inspection

- Check the connectors for poor connection or loose terminals.

1. Park the vehicle outside with a clear view of the southern horizon.

2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

3. Turn on the audio unit, and select XM radio.

Does the XM radio receive a signal?
YES - Reception interference operation is normal.

NO -
- With AcuraLink: Go to step 4.

- Without AcuraLink: Go to step 16.



4. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

5. Check the XM antenna 2P connector and AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector B (2P).

Are the connectors connected?
YES - Go to step 6.

NO - Reconnect the XM antenna 2P connector and AcuraLink control unit connector B (2P) connector, and recheck XM radio operation. If the signal is restored, the system is OK. If the signal is not restored, go to step 6.


6. Disconnect AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P).

7. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

8. Measure the voltage between AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P) terminal No. 1 and body ground.

Is there battery voltage?
YES - Go to step 9.

NO - Repair an open in the wire between the No. 15 (10 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box and AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P) terminal No. 1.






9. Measure the voltage between body ground and AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P) terminals No. 2 and No. 3 individually.

Is there battery voltage?
YES - Go to step 10.

NO - Repair an open in the wire between the No. 5 (7.5 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box and AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P) terminal No. 2, or repair an open in the wire between the No. 18 (7.5 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box and AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P) terminal No. 3.






10. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

11. Reconnect AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P).

12. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

13. Measure the voltage between AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P) terminal No. 28 and body ground.

Is there less than 0.2 V?
YES - Go to step 14.

NO - Repair an open or high resistance in the wire between AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) connector A (32P) terminal No 28 and body ground (G651).






14. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

15. Substitute a known-good XM antenna. Removal and Replacement

Does the XM radio receive a signal?
YES - Replace the original XM antenna. Removal and Replacement

NO - Substitute a known-good XM antenna lead. If the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) receives signal, replace the original XM antenna lead. If the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) does not receive signal, substitute a known-good AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver). AcuraLink Control Unit (XM Receiver) Removal/Installation


16. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

17. Check the connection at XM antenna 2P connector and XM receiver connector B (2P).

Are the connectors connected?
YES - Go to step 18.

NO - Reconnect the connectors, and recheck XM radio operation. If the signal is restored, the system is OK. If the signal is not restored go to step 18.


18. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

19. Measure the voltage between XM receiver connector A (14P) terminal No. 1 and body ground.

Is there battery voltage?
YES - Go to step 20.

NO - Repair an open in the wire between the audio unit and the XM receiver.






20. Measure the voltage between XM receiver connector A (14P) terminal No. 2 and body ground.

Is there less than 0.2 V?
YES - Go to step 21.

NO - Repair an open in the wire between the audio unit and the XM receiver.






21. Measure the voltage between XM receiver connector A (14P) terminal No. 11 and body ground.

Is there less than 0.2 V?
YES - Go to step 22.

NO - Repair an open or high resistance in the wire between the audio unit and the XM receiver.






22. Substitute a known-good XM antenna. Removal and Replacement

Does the XM radio receive a signal?
YES - Replace the original XM antenna. Removal and Replacement

NO - Substitute a known-good XM antenna lead. If the XM receiver receives signal, replace the original XM antenna lead. If the XM receiver does not receive signal, substitute a known-good XM receiver, XM Receiver Removal/Installation (Without AcuraLink With XM Radio) and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original XM receiver.
