Hood Opener Cable Replacement

NOTE:

- Put on gloves to protect your hands.

- Take care not to scratch the body or the related parts.

- Take care not to kink the hood opener cable.

1. Remove these items:
- Front grille cover Service and Repair

- Front inner fender, driver's side as needed Front Inner Fender Replacement

- Kick panel, driver's side Interior Trim Removal/Installation - Front Door Sill Area

- Air intake cover Service and Repair

2. Remove the bolts, and pull up the left radiator upper bracket (A), to release it from the radiator (B), then remove the bracket.






3. Disconnect the hood opener cable (A) from the hood latch (B). Service and Repair

4. Detach the clips with a clip remover.






5. Disconnect the hood opener cable (A) from the hood release handle (B). Hood Release Handle Replacement

6. Remove the grommet (C) then remove the hood opener cable.

7. Install the cable in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.

- When installing the opener cable under the dashboard, route the cable over the ground harness (D).
