Rear Door Window Glass Weatherstrip: Service and Repair
Rear Door Glass Outer Weatherstrip Replacement
NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to scratch the door.
- Take care not to damage the front hook in the weatherstrip because it is not available separately.
1. Remove these items:
- Door panel Rear Door Panel Removal/Installation
- Door panel bracket Service and Repair
- Plastic cover, as needed Service and Repair
- Door pad and door skin pad Rear Door Pad Replacement
2. From the inside of the door, slide the clips (A) on the door glass outer weatherstrip (B) to release the hooks (C) from the flanges (D) on the door.
3. Push the front hook (A) with a flat-tip screwdriver from inside of the door, then pull up the front area of the weatherstrip (B).
4. Release the weatherstrip from the door outer molding (C) by sliding the weatherstrip forward, then remove the weatherstrip.
5. Set the rear end of the weatherstrip to the molding. Before installing the weatherstrip, slide the clips to the released position as in step 2.
6. Install the weatherstrip, and slide the clips securely on to the flanges.
7. Reinstall all remaining removed parts, and make sure the plastic cover on the door is installed properly and sealed around its outside perimeter to seal out water.
