HFL Phonebook Imports Each Time, Call History Refreshes Each Time, Voice Tag Doesn't Work, and AcuraLink Voice Unclear

SYMPTOM

The vehicle has one or more of these symptoms:

^ The phone book imports each time its accessed

^ The call history imports each time it's accessed

^ The voice tag stored in speed dial location No 2 doesn't work

^ The second voice tag entered regardless of its stored location doesn't work

^ The AcuraLink voice doesn't read the AcuraLink messages clearly

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Start the engine and make sure the audio=navigation unit is on





2. Press OK at the confirmation screen, and wait for the map screen to display

3. Insert the update disc (T/N 07AAZ TM0A100) into the CD slot The update starts automatically The entire update takes about 15 minutes

NOTE:
Don't turn off the engine or eject the disc during the update





4. The following notification screen appears. Select Yes.





NOTE:
An UNSUPPORTED message appears on the audio display, but it disappears after a few seconds.

The following notification screen appears.





5. When the notification screen shown below appears, select OK.





NOTE:
If the navigation system freezes or locks after selecting OK, and/or the following error message appears, press the start/stop button to select the OFF mode, then restart the vehicle. The update continues. Don't try to eject and re-insert the disc because it won't eject.





The system reboots, and the following screens appear. Do not turn off the vehicle or eject the disc.

NOTE:
The next screen displayed states that the update takes up to2 hours, but this part of the update actually takes about 4 minutes.





6. When the notification screen shown below appears, select OK.





The audio-navigation unit applies the update. The audio-navigation unit reboots twice, then the following screens appear. This part of the update takes about 5 minutes.





7. When the update is done, the following message appears. Wait for the system to reboot. When the confirmation screen appears, select OK. The map screen appears.





8. Eject the update disc.

NOTE:
If you leave the update disc in the unit, the following error message will appear.

9. Erase all the stored voice tags. Explain to your client that the original tags were erased to make sure that the re-entered tags work properly.





10. Verify the update by checking that the software version is 2.12. To check the software, do this:

^ Press the INFO button.

^ Move the interface dial to the right to select Other.

^ Scroll down, and select System/Device Information.





^ Confirm the software version is 2.12.
