Windshield Wipers, Bringing into Service Position

• If windshield wiper motor should run during procedure, hood must be completely closed. Otherwise, voltage supply to wiper motor is interrupted.

- If there is a chance of freezing, ensure wiper blades are not frozen.

Vehicles without Driver Information System (DIS)

- Briefly switch ignition on and off again.

- Activate "one-touch wiping" within 10 seconds.

• The windshield wipers run into "service position".

Vehicles with Driver Information System (DIS)






- Switch on ignition.

- Press the Reset button - 1 - on the windshield wiper switch until the menu display appears.

- Select the desired menu item by pressing the wiper switch - 2 - and confirm the respective end position by pressing the Reset - button:






• The windshield wipers run into "service position".

All Vehicles

Risk of damaging the hood by running the wipers back in basic position.

• Do not drive a vehicle with windshield wiper arms folded up. The windshield wipers automatically go back into basic position above the speed of 6 km/h (4 mph).
