18 00 018 Removing and installing complete exhaust system (M57T2top) (without diesel particulate filter)
Special tools required:
* 31 2 220
Warning!
Danger of burning and other injuries!
Only perform this work after engine has cooled down.
Removal of the exhaust system must be carried out with the assistance of a second person.
Note:
Weight of exhaust system is approx. 40 kg.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
* E91,E92,E93 only:
Remove tension strut
Support exhaust system with special tool 31 2 220.
Unfasten nut.
Installation:
Tightening torque 18 20 8AZ.
Release bolts (left and right).
Installation:
Tightening torque 18 20 4AZ.
Release bolts on bracing plate.
Installation:
Tightening torque 33 32 11AZ.
Release chassis bracing.
Release nuts (left and right).
Installation:
Tightening torque 18 20 6AZ.
Release bolts (left and right).
Installation:
Tightening torque 18 20 7AZ.
Lower exhaust system.
Installation:
Check exhaust system for leaks.
