DTC 14

Fig. 014 - WIRING DIAGRAM for Code 14 Coolant Sensor Circuit (Signal Voltage Low). VIN N, VIN T:

CODE 14

COOLANT SENSOR CIRCUIT

(SIGNAL VOLTAGE LOW)

4.3L VIN "T"

5.7L VIN "N"

Code 14 means the ECM has seen low resistance of the coolant sensor circuit as follows:
a. Low resistance (high engine temperature)
b. Or low voltage (at ECM Terminal "W")
c. Or grounded coolant sensor circuit
d. For a time longer than specified
1. This step determines whether the fault is at the coolant sensor or elsewhere in the circuit. Normal voltage should be about 5 volts in the circuit. (4 Volts or over)

2. This step checks for a grounded circuit between the ECM and the coolant sensor. Test light to B + should be "OFF: in an ungrounded circuit. The coolant sensor is not connected during the test.
