Dear Buick Owner:
General Motors has determined that some 1985 Electras equipped with diesel engines may have been assembled without the low vacuum brake module. Without this module, the "brake" warning light located in the instrument panel above the speedometer would not be turned on if the vacuum in the brake booster should go to a low level. To correct this condition, your Buick Dealer will determine if the module was installed, and, if required, will install a module. This service will be done at no charge to you.
Instructions for making this correction have been sent to your dealer. Please contact your dealer to arrange a service date. The time required to perform this service is about 15 minutes. Please ask your dealer if you wish to know how much additional time will be necessary to process your vehicle.
The enclosed owner reply card identifies your vehicle. Presentation of this card to your dealer will assist you in making the necessary correction in the shortest possible time. If you have sold or traded your vehicle, please let us know by completing the postage-paid owner reply card and returning it to us.
We are sorry to cause you this inconvenience; however, we have taken this action in the interest of your continued satisfaction with our products.
