1985
1. Perform steps 1 and 2 as described for 1984.
2. Remove air cleaner cover, then the MAP sensor retainer, and position MAP sensor out of way with electrical connectors and vacuum hose attached.
3. Remove air cleaner assembly and the air crossover, disconnect vacuum hose to EGR valve and install suitable screened covers in intake manifold openings.
4. Disconnect electrical connector at HPAA solenoid.
5. Connect MVS test harness as shown, Fig. 51.
6. Install suitable tachometer.
7. Perform steps 7 through 14 as described for 1984, referring to Fig. 51 instead of Fig. 49.
8. Connect HPAA solenoid connector and MVS connectors, then install air crossover, MAP sensor and air cleaner and connect EGR vacuum hose.

1985
1. Shut off engine, then remove MVS adjusting hole plug, being careful not to move MVS assembly while removing cap nut.
2. Turn adjustment screw clockwise to increase voltage reading or counterclockwise to reduce voltage reading. Adjust in 1/8 turn increments.
3. Install adjusting hole plug finger tight.
4. Perform steps 7 through 12 in MVS ``Checking,'' ``1984.''
5. If MVS voltage reading is not within specifications, readjust MVS as necessary.
6. When voltage reading is within specifications, install adjusting hole plug with new O-ring, torquing to 30 inch lbs.
7. Connect MVS connector, then start engine and check for leaks.
8. Install air crossover and air cleaner assembly.
