1. Remove air crossover, Fig. 47, and install cover J-29657.
2. Clean any dirt from injection pump cover and upper area of pump.
3. Place several rags in engine valley to catch spilled fuel.
4. Remove fuel return pipe.
5. Remove control cover screws and cover, Fig. 59, discarding washers and gasket. Extreme care must be exercised to keep foreign material out of the pump when the cover is off. If any objects are dropped into the pump, they must be removed before the engine is started or injection pump or engine damage may occur.
6. Reverse procedure to install. Torque screws to 25 inch lbs.
