SUBJECT: OIL FILTER BYPASS VALVE

MODELS AFFECTED: 1980-1985 VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 2.5L L-4 ENGINE (VIN CODE R)

OIL FILTER BYPASS VALVE ASSEMBLY:

Whenever a repair requires replacement of the engine block, it will be necessary to remove the oil filter bypass valve assembly and reinstall it in the new block. If a new oil filter bypass check valve assembly is required, it will be necessary to order Part Number 25010497 through WDDGM. Refer to Illustration..
