SUBJECT: ENGINE MOUNT BRACKET AND OIL FILTER INTERFERENCE

MODELS AFFECTED: 1985 SKYLARKS EQUIPPED WITH 2.8L V-6 ENGINES (ENGINE VIN CODE X AND W)


General Motors has determined that certain 1985 Skylark models equipped with 2.8L V-6 engines may experience an interference condition between the engine mount bracket and the oil filter canister. This condition, if not corrected, can make it difficult to remove and replace the engine oil filter during scheduled maintenance intervals without removing the engine mount bracket.
