SUBJECT: ENGINE GROUNDING NOISE AND/OR VIBRATION DURING ACCELERATION

MODELS AFFECTED: 1985 SOMERSET REGAL MODELS WITH 2.5L ENGINES


Some early production Somerset Regal vehicles equipped with 2.5L, 4 cylinder engines may exhibit a noise or vibration on acceleration which may be due to an engine mount ground out.

The right side rear engine mount bracket may have inadequate clearance during acceleration.

REAR ENGINE MOUNT/SIDE BRACKET:

To alleviate the condition, replace the right rear engine mount, engine side bracket, with a new bracket, part #10040335 (automatic) or #10040336 (manual).. See illustration.
