Hub and Bearing Assembly

REMOVAL
- Raise car and suitably support.

NOTE: Mark relationship of wheel to hub and bearing assembly, to insure proper wheel balance upon reassembly.

- Remove tire and wheel assembly.

CAUTION: Do not hammer on brake drum as damage to the bearing could result.

- Remove brake drum. Brake Drum

CAUTION: The bolts which attach the hub and bearing assembly also support the brake assembly. When removing these bolts, support the brake assembly with a wire or other means. Do not let the brake line support the brake assembly.

Hub And Bearing Assembly:





NOTE: The top rear attaching bolt will not clear the brake shoe when removing the hub and bearing assembly. Partially remove hub and bearing assembly prior to removing this bolt.

- Remove hub and bearing assembly attaching bolts then remove assembly from axle.


INSTALLATION
- Install hub and bearing assembly to rear axle.
- Tighten hub and bearing bolts to 50 Nm (37 ft.lbs.).
- Install brake drum. Drum Brake System
- Install wheel and tire assembly while noting alignment marks, then lower vehicle and torque wheel nuts to 140 Nm (100 ft. lbs.).
