Display Dimming Operation

With the light switch in the OFF position, no voltage is applied to the BRN(9) wire. The digital display shows maximum brightness.

With the light switch in PARK or HEAD, battery voltage is applied to the display dim enable input at the instrument cluster. Voltage is also applied through the instrument panel dimmer and the INST LPS FUSE (GRY wire) to the display dim input. Voltage applied to the dim display input varies as the dimmer is moved. The digital display dims as the voltage is reduced at this input.
