SUBJECT: NEW TIE ROD ADJUSTER CLAMP BOLTS TORQUE SPECIFICATION
MODELS AFFECTED: 1985 SKYHAWK AND SOMERSET REGAL
The torque specification for 1985 Skyhawk and Somerset Regal tie rod adjuster clamp bolts has been changed from the 1984 Skyhawk Service Manual specification.
Anytime that a toe-in adjustment or other service is performed which requires retightening of the tie rod adjuster clamp bolts, the bolts must be retightened to 55 N-m (41 ft.lbs.).
When inner or outer tie rod service parts are replaced on past model Skyhawks, the adjuster clamp bolts must also be retightened to 55 N-m (41 ft. lbs.).
