Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Replacement - Rear

Tools Required

J 44827 Transmission Cooler Quick Connect

Removal Procedure

1. Using the J 44827, disconnect the front transmission oil cooler (TOC) line from the rear TOC line.
2. Remove the left hand (LH) front wheel.
3. Remove the LH front splash shield retainers.
4. Remove the LH front splash shield.
5. Using the J 44827, disconnect the rear transmission oil cooler TOC lines from the radiator.





6. Remove the rear TOC line to transmission retainer bolt.
7. Disconnect the rear TOC lines from the transmission.
8. Remove and discard the O-rings.
9. Remove the TOC retainer bracket bolt.
10. Remove the TOC lines.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the TOC lines.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

2. Install the TOC retainer bracket bolt.

Tighten the bolt to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).





3. Install new O-rings to the rear TOC lines.
4. Connect the rear TOC lines to the transmission.
5. Install the rear TOC line to transmission retainer bolt.

Tighten the bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

6. Connect the rear TOC line to the front TOC line.
7. Connect the rear TOC line to the radiator.
8. Install the LH front splash shield.
9. Install the LH front splash shield retainers.
10. Install the LH front wheel.
