Front Door Window Regulator: Service and Repair

Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement (Monte Carlo)

Removal Procedure

1. Position the front door window with a 6.3 mm (1/4 in) space at the top.
2. Tape the window to the window frame.
3. Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Impala) Service and Repair Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Monte Carlo) Service and Repair
4. Remove the front door water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Impala) Service and Repair Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Monte Carlo) Service and Repair
5. Remove the inner energy absorber. Refer to Front Door Energy Absorber Pad Replacement (Monte Carlo - Outer) Front Door Energy Absorber Pad Replacement (Monte Carlo - Inner).
6. Disconnect the front window from the front window regulator carrier plate. Refer to Front Side Door Window Replacement (Impala) (Front Side Door Window Replacement)Front Side Door Window Replacement (Monte Carlo) (Front Side Door Window Replacement).




7. Disconnect the electrical connector from the front window regulator motor.




8. Loosen the bolts on the front window regulator motor.
9. Loosen the top bolts and remove the lower bolts on the front window regulator rail.
10. Remove the front window regulator, lifting up and out from the key slots on the front door inner panel and through the rear access hole.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the top window regulator bolts half way into the front window regulator motor and the rail.
2. Position the front window regulator rail through the rear access hole first.
3. Position the front window regulator motor through the rear access hole.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

4. Install the front window regulator bolts into the key slots.

Tighten the front window regulator motor and the rail bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

5. Remove the tape from the front window and position the front window to the front window regulator carrier plate.
6. Connect the front window to the front window regulator carrier plate. Refer to Front Side Door Window Replacement (Impala) (Front Side Door Window Replacement)Front Side Door Window Replacement (Monte Carlo) (Front Side Door Window Replacement).




7. Connect the electrical connector to the front window regulator motor.
8. Install the inner energy absorber. Refer to Front Door Energy Absorber Pad Replacement (Monte Carlo - Outer) Front Door Energy Absorber Pad Replacement (Monte Carlo - Inner).
9. Install the front door water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Impala) Service and Repair Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Monte Carlo) Service and Repair.
10. Install the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Impala) Service and Repair Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Monte Carlo) Service and Repair
