Disabling the SIR System

1. Turn the steering wheel to the straight-ahead position.
2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK and remove the key.
3. Remove the air bag fuse F1 in the instrument panel (I/P) fuse block and wait more than 1 minute for the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) capacitor to discharge.
4. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Service and Repair for proper zone disabling and enabling.
