Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Bracket Replacement
Removal Procedure
Important:
* The ignition mode switch has 2 contact buttons.
* The upper button, with a circle indicator on it, starts the engine if the brake pedal is applied.
* The lower button has 2 indicators on it, O and ACC. This button cycles the ignition through the following modes:
- OFF- This is the normal state upon entering the vehicle. and can also be reached from any other mode by depressing the button. The O indicator illuminates.
- Accessory -This mode can be reached from the OFF state by depressing the button. The ACC indicator illuminates.
- On with the engine OFF-This state can be reached from the OFF or Accessory modes by depressing the button for about 5-6 seconds. The upper LED illuminates.
1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
2. Remove the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV). Refer to Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Replacement (Service and Repair) .
3. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service Intervals) .
4. Remove the BPMV bracket bolts.
5. Remove the steering gear nut and bolt.
6. Remove the BPMV bracket.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the EBCM/BPMV bracket to the crossmember.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .
2. Install the bracket bolts to the EBCM/BPMV bracket.
Tighten the bolts to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).
3. Install the steering gear bolt and nut.
Tighten the nut to 100 N.m (74 lb ft).
4. Install the EBCM/BPMV assembly into the bracket.
