Parking Brake Rear Cable Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Disable the park brake automatic adjuster. Refer to Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Disabling (Park Brake Cable Adjuster Disabling) .
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service Intervals) .
3. Remove the RH muffler. Refer to Exhaust Muffler Replacement - Right Side (Service and Repair) .
4. Disconnect the rear park brake cable at the retainer and equalizer.




5. Remove the rear park brake cable from the rear suspension mounting bracket.
6. Remove the rear park brake cable retainer nut.
7. Remove the rear park brake cable from the vehicle.



Installation Procedure

1. Install the rear parking brake cable to the vehicle.
2. Install the rear parking brake cable retainer nut.




3. Connect the rear park brake cable to the rear suspension mounting bracket.




4. Connect the rear park brake cable to the retainer and equalizer.
5. Install the RH muffler. Refer to Exhaust Muffler Replacement - Right Side (Service and Repair) .
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Enable park brake automatic adjuster. Refer to Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Enabling (Park Brake Cable Adjuster Enabling) .
