Crankshaft Balancer Replacement

Tools Required
^ J 38122-A Crankshaft Balancer Holder
^ J 45059 Angle Meter

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the drive belt.
2. Install the J 38122-A to the balancer in order to keep the balancer from rotating when removing the balancer bolt.
3. Remove and discard the crankshaft balancer bolt.
4. Remove the J 38122-A.




5. Remove the crankshaft balancer.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the crankshaft balancer.




2. Install the J 38122-A to the balancer in order to keep the balancer from rotating while tightening the balancer bolt.
3. Install a NEW crankshaft balancer bolt.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

4. Tighten the crankshaft balancer bolt.

Tighten the bolt to 100 N.m (74 lb ft) plus an additional 75 degrees using the J 45059.

5. Install the drive belt.
