Camshaft Cover Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the air cleaner outlet resonator.
2. Reposition the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose clamp (1) at the camshaft cover.
3. Remove the PCV hose from the camshaft cover.




4. Disconnect the engine compartment fuel feed line quick connect fitting (4) from the fuel rail. Refer to Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.
5. Remove the engine compartment fuel line clips (2) from the fuel line bracket.
6. Reposition the engine compartment fuel feed line out of the way.




7. Remove the fuel line bracket bolt and bracket.
8. Remove the ignition coils.




9. Remove the engine wiring harness clips (1) from the camshaft cover.




10. Remove the camshaft cover bolts.
11. Remove the camshaft cover.

Installation Procedure




1. Transfer the oil fill cap to the NEW camshaft cover, if necessary.
2. Install the camshaft cover.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

3. Install the camshaft cover bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).




4. Install the engine wiring harness clips (1) to the camshaft cover.




5. Install the ignition coils.
6. Install the fuel line bracket and bolt.

Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).




7. Position the engine compartment fuel feed line.
8. Connect the engine compartment fuel feed line quick connect fitting (4) to the fuel rail. Refer to Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.
9. Install the engine compartment fuel line clips (2) to the fuel line bracket.




10. Install the PCV hose to the camshaft cover.
11. Position the PCV hose clamp (1) at the camshaft cover.
12. Install the air cleaner outlet resonator.
