Compressor Pressure Relief Valve Replacement (L61)

Tools Required

J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

Removal Procedure




1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
2. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
3. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
4. Remove the compressor pressure relief valve.

Installation Procedure

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

1. Install the compressor pressure relief valve.






Tighten to 8 N.m (70 lb in).

2. Lower the vehicle.
3. Connect the battery negative cable.
4. Evacuate and charge the refrigerant system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
5. Leak test the fittings using the J 39400-A.
