Battery Negative Cable Replacement (L61)

Removal Procedure




1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the negative battery cable ground terminal nut (1) from the tie bar stud.
3. Remove the negative battery cable ground terminal (2) from the tie bar stud.
4. Remove the negative battery cable clip (4) from the battery tray.




5. Remove the tape holding the negative battery cable to the positive battery cable.
6. Remove the engine wiring harness nut (3).
7. Remove the engine wiring harness terminal (2) from the transaxle stud.
8. Remove the negative battery cable terminal (1) from the transaxle stud.
9. Remove the negative battery cable.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the negative battery cable.
2. Install the negative battery cable terminal (1) to the transaxle stud.
3. Install the engine wiring harness terminal (2) to the transaxle stud.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

4. Install the engine wiring harness nut (3).

Tighten the nut to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).




5. Install the negative battery cable ground terminal (2) to the tie bar stud.
6. Instal the negative battery cable ground terminal nut (1) to the tie bar stud.

Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

7. Install the negative battery cable clip (4) to the battery tray.
8. Install tape in order to secure the negative battery cable to the positive battery cable.
9. Connect the negative battery cable.
