Stabilizer Shaft Insulator Replacement (Extended Sedan)
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
2. Remove the muffler assembly.
3. Disconnect the fuel pump module electrical connector from the underbody wiring harness.
4. Disconnect the evaporative emissions (EVAP) vent valve solenoid harness electrical connector from the underbody wiring harness.
5. Suitably support the gas tank.
6. Remove the front fuel tank strap bolts.
7. Remove the fuel tank heat shield.
8. Lower the fuel tank as necessary for access.
9. Remove the stabilizer shaft bracket bolts.
10. Remove the stabilizer shaft insulators from the stabilizer shaft.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the stabilizer shaft insulators.
2. Install the stabilizer shaft brackets.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.
3. Install the stabilizer shaft bracket bolts.
Tighten the stabilizer shaft insulator bracket retaining bolts to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).
4. Raise the fuel tank into position.
5. Install the fuel tank heat shield.
6. Install the front fuel tank strap bolts.
Tighten the bolts to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
7. Remove support from the fuel tank.
8. Connect the EVAP vent valve solenoid harness electrical connector to the underbody wiring harness.
9. Connect the fuel pump module electrical connector to the underbody wiring harness.
10. Install the muffler assembly.
11. Lower the vehicle.
