Front Side Door Replacement

Removal Procedure

Important: For the removal of the front door assembly, perform steps 13 through 19 only.



1. Open and support the front door.
2. Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) .
3. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Service and Repair) .
4. Remove the front door speaker. Refer to Radio Front Side Door Lower Speaker Replacement (Radio Front Side Door Lower Speaker Replacement) .
5. Remove the inside door handle. Refer to Front Side Door Inside Handle Replacement (Service and Repair) .
6. Remove the outside door handle. Refer to Door Outside Handle Replacement (Service and Repair) .
7. Remove the rear view mirror. Refer to Outside Rearview Mirror Replacement (Outside Rearview Mirror Replacement) .
8. Remove the front door window. Refer to Front Side Door Window Replacement (Service and Repair) .
9. Remove the window regulator. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement (Service and Repair) .
10. Remove the window outer belt sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement (Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement) .
11. Remove the lock assembly. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Replacement (Front Side Door Lock Replacement) .
12. Remove the front door electrical harness through the opening in the front door.
13. Disconnect the rubber conduit from the A-pillar.
14. Disconnect the front door harness electrical connector.
15. Route the electrical harness through the opening in the A-pillar.




16. Using a grease pencil, mark the location of the front door hinges on the door side.




17. Remove the bolt (1) and nuts (2) from the check link.
18. With an assistant, remove the door side hinge bolts.
19. With an assistant, remove the front door from the vehicle.



Installation Procedure

Important: For the installation of the front door assembly, perform steps 1 through 6 only.



1. With an assistant, position the front door to the hinges.
2. With an assistant, align the hinges to the marks made on the front door.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

3. With an assistant, install the door hinge to front door bolts.

Tighten the door hinge bolts to 26 N.m (19 lb ft).

4. Route the electrical harness through the opening in the A-pillar.
5. Connect the front door electrical harness.
6. Connect the rubber conduit to the A-pillar.
7. Install the lock assembly. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Replacement (Front Side Door Lock Replacement) .
8. Install the window outer belt sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement (Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement) .
9. Install the window regulator. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement (Service and Repair) .
10. Install the front door window. Refer to Front Side Door Window Replacement (Service and Repair) .
11. Install the rear view mirror. Refer to Outside Rearview Mirror Replacement (Outside Rearview Mirror Replacement) .
12. Install the inside door handle. Refer to Front Side Door Inside Handle Replacement (Service and Repair) .
13. Install the outside door handle. Refer to Door Outside Handle Replacement (Service and Repair) .
14. Install the front door speaker. Refer to Radio Front Side Door Lower Speaker Replacement (Radio Front Side Door Lower Speaker Replacement) .
15. Route the front door electrical harness through the opening in the front door.
16. Install the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Service and Repair) .
17. Install the side front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) .
18. Carefully close the door. Inspect the door for proper alignment.
