Rear Compartment Lid Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Open the rear compartment.
2. Remove the rear lid spoiler, if necessary. Refer to Rear Spoiler Replacement (Sedan) (Service and Repair) .
3. Remove the lid applique. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Applique Replacement () .
4. Remove the rear lock cylinder, if necessary.
5. Remove the overslam bumpers, if necessary. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Overslam Bumper Replacement (Service and Repair) .
6. Remove the latch. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Latch Replacement (Service and Repair) .




7. Remove the rear compartment lid-to-hinge attachment bolts.
8. With the aid of an assistant, remove the rear compartment lid.



Installation Procedure





1. With the aid of an assistant, install the rear compartment lid.
2. With an assistant, align the rear compartment lid to the hinges.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

3. Install the bolts that secure the rear compartment lid to the hinges.

Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

4. Adjust the compartment lid as necessary. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Adjustment (Adjustments) .
5. Connect the rear compartment wiring harness to the body harness.
6. Install the spoiler, if necessary. Refer to Rear Spoiler Replacement (Sedan) (Service and Repair) .
7. Install the lid applique, if necessary. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Applique Replacement () .
8. Install the lock cylinder.
9. Install the overslam bumpers, if necessary. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Overslam Bumper Replacement (Service and Repair) .
10. Install the latch. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Latch Replacement (Service and Repair) .
11. Close the rear compartment.
