Front Side Door Locking Rod Replacement

Removal Procedure

Important: The locking rod (1) is replaced as part of the door latch assembly.







1. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the front door water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Service and Repair) .
3. Remove the inside door handle. Refer to Front Side Door Inside Handle Replacement (Service and Repair) .




4. Remove the window run channel. Refer to Front Side Door Window Channel Replacement (Front Side Door Window Channel Replacement) .
5. Remove the locking assembly, including the attached locking rod (1).



Installation Procedure





1. Install the lock assembly with the attached rods (1).




2. Install the outside door handle and rods (1). Refer to Door Outside Handle Replacement (Service and Repair) .
3. Install the window run channel. Refer to Front Side Door Window Channel Replacement (Front Side Door Window Channel Replacement) .
4. Install the inside door handle. Refer to Front Side Door Inside Handle Replacement (Service and Repair) .
5. Install the front door water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Service and Repair) .
6. Install the trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) .
