Exhaust Heat Shield Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. If equipped with a 3.5L or 3.9L engine, remove the catalytic converters. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side (LZ4) (Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side (LZ4)) and Catalytic Converter Replacement - Right Side (LZ4) (Catalytic Converter Replacement - Right Side (LZ4)) .
2. If equipped with a 2.2L engine remove the exhaust manifold pipe. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Pipe Replacement (L61) (Service and Repair) .
3. Remove the heat shield nuts.
4. Remove the heat shield.



Installation Procedure





1. Position the heat shield to the underbody and the dash panel.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

2. Install the heat shield nuts.

Tighten the nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

3. If equipped with a 2.2L engine, install the exhaust manifold pipe. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Pipe Replacement (L61) (Service and Repair) .
4. If equipped with a 3.5L or 3.9L engine, install the catalytic converters. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side (LZ4) (Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side (LZ4)) and Catalytic Converter Replacement - Right Side (LZ4) (Catalytic Converter Replacement - Right Side (LZ4)) .
