Instrument Panel Trim Pad Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) upper trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the I/P outer trim covers. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement (Service and Repair) .
3. Remove the I/P left trim panels. Refer to Instrument Panel Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side (Service and Repair) .
4. Remove the I/P right trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Trim Panel Replacement - Right Side (Service and Repair) .
5. Remove the I/P compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement (Service and Repair) .
6. Remove the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement (Service and Repair) .
7. Remove the cluster trim bezel assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bezel Replacement (Service and Repair) .
8. Remove the cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement (Service and Repair) .
9. Remove the I/P center trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Center Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) .
10. Remove the HVAC control module. Refer to HVAC Module Assembly Replacement (Service and Repair) .
11. Remove the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement (Radio Replacement) .
12. Remove the ignition switch wire harness connectors. Refer to Ignition and Start Switch Replacement (Service and Repair) .
13. Remove the park lock cable at the ignition switch. Refer to Park Lock Cable Replacement (Service and Repair) for the 4T40-E/4T45-E transmission.




14. Remove the I/P trim pad screws.
15. Move the I/P trim pad enough to access the ambient light sensor.
16. Remove the ambient light sensor. Refer to Ambient Light Sensor Replacement (Service and Repair) .




17. Remove the I/P pad.
18. Remove the ignition switch from the I/P pad. Refer to Ignition and Start Switch Replacement (Service and Repair) .



Installation Procedure

1. Install the ignition switch from the I/P pad. Refer to Ignition and Start Switch Replacement (Service and Repair) .




2. Install the I/P pad.
3. Install the ambient light sensor. Refer to Ambient Light Sensor Replacement (Service and Repair) .





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

4. Tighten the I/P trim pad screws.

Tighten the screws to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).

5. Install the park lock cable at the ignition switch. Refer to Park Lock Cable Replacement (Service and Repair) for the 4T40-E/4T45-E transmission.
6. Install the ignition switch wire harness connectors. Refer to Ignition and Start Switch Replacement (Service and Repair) .
7. Install the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement (Radio Replacement) .
8. Install the HVAC control module. Refer to HVAC Module Assembly Replacement (Service and Repair) .
9. Install the I/P center trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Center Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) .
10. Install the cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement (Service and Repair) .
11. Install the cluster trim bezel assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bezel Replacement (Service and Repair) .
12. Install the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement (Service and Repair) .
13. Install the I/P compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement (Service and Repair) .
14. Install the I/P right trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Trim Panel Replacement - Right Side (Service and Repair) .
15. Install the I/P left trim panels. Refer to Instrument Panel Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side (Service and Repair) .
16. Install the I/P outer trim covers. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement (Service and Repair) .
17. Install the I/P upper trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) .
