Evaporative Emission Canister Replacement (Sedan)

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement (Maxx) (Service and Repair)Fuel Tank Replacement (Sedan) (Service and Repair) .
2. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister vent pipe quick connect fitting (2) from the EVAP canister. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service) .
3. Disconnect the EVAP canister pipe quick connect fitting (3) from the EVAP canister vent solenoid valve. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service) .




4. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge pipe quick connect fitting from the EVAP canister. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service) .
5. Remove the EVAP canister purge pipe.




6. Remove the EVAP canister bolt.
7. Slide up and remove the EVAP canister.



Installation Procedure





1. Position and install the EVAP canister.
2. Install the EVAP canister bolt.

Tighten the bolt 3.5 N.m (31 lb in).





3. Install the EVAP canister purge pipe.
4. Connect the EVAP canister purge pipe quick connect fitting to the EVAP canister. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service) .




5. Connect the EVAP canister pipe quick connect fitting (3) to the EVAP canister vent solenoid valve. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service) .
6. Connect the EVAP canister vent pipe quick connect fitting (2) to the EVAP canister. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service) .
7. Install the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement (Maxx) (Service and Repair)Fuel Tank Replacement (Sedan) (Service and Repair) .
