Fuel Tank Vent: Service and Repair

Fuel Tank Vent Hose Replacement (Maxx)

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement (Maxx) (Service and Repair)Fuel Tank Replacement (Sedan) (Service and Repair) .
2. Disconnect the fuel tank vent tube quick connect fitting (1) from the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service) .
3. Disconnect the fuel tank vent tube quick connect fittings (3, 4) from the fuel pump module. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service) .




4. Disconnect fuel tank fuel pump wiring harness electrical connectors (1, 2) from the module and the fuel pressure sensor.
5. Reposition the wiring harness out of the way.




6. Remove the fuel tank vent tube from the retaining features (1) built into the fuel tank.
7. Remove the fuel tank fuel feed pipe from the retaining features (4) built into the fuel tank.




8. Reposition the fuel feed pipe enough in order to remove the fuel tank vent tube.
9. Remove the fuel tank vent tube from the fuel tank.



Installation Procedure





1. Reposition the fuel feed pipe enough in order to install the fuel tank vent tube.
2. Position and install the fuel tank vent tube to the fuel tank.




3. Install the fuel tank vent tube to the retaining features (1) built into the fuel tank.
4. Install the fuel tank fuel feed pipe to the retaining features (4) built into the fuel tank.




5. Position the fuel tank fuel pump wiring harness.
6. Connect fuel tank fuel pump wiring harness electrical connectors (1, 2) to the module and the fuel pressure sensor.




7. Connect the fuel tank vent tube quick connect fittings (3, 4) to the fuel pump module. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service) .
8. Connect the fuel tank vent tube quick connect fitting (1) to the EVAP canister. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service) .
9. Install the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement (Maxx) (Service and Repair)Fuel Tank Replacement (Sedan) (Service and Repair) .
