Generator Replacement (L61)

Removal Procedure





1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the air cleaner resonator. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Resonator Replacement .
3. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
4. Remove the radiator inlet hose. Refer to Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (LZ4, LZ9) (Service and Repair)Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (L61) (Service and Repair) .
5. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) from the generator.
6. Reposition the engine wiring harness lead rubber boot (3).
7. Remove the engine wiring harness terminal lead to generator nut (3).
8. Remove the engine wiring harness terminal (4) from the generator stud.




9. Remove the generator bolts.
10. Remove the generator.



Installation Procedure





1. Position the generator to the engine block.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

2. Install the generator bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).





3. Install the engine wing harness terminal (4) to the generator stud.
4. Install the engine wiring harness terminal lead to generator nut (3).

Tighten the nut to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

5. Position the engine wiring harness lead rubber boot (3).
6. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) to the generator.
7. Install the radiator inlet hose. Refer to Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (LZ4, LZ9) (Service and Repair)Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (L61) (Service and Repair) .
8. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
9. Install the air cleaner resonator. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Resonator Replacement .
10. Connect negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair) .
