Generator Replacement (LZ4)



Generator Replacement (LZ4)

Removal Procedure





1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (Service and Repair) .
3. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (3).
4. Reposition the engine wiring harness terminal boot (4).
5. Remove the engine wiring harness terminal lead to generator nut (1).
6. Remove the engine wiring harness terminal (2) from the generator stud.




7. Remove the power steering line clip nut (1).
8. Remove the power steering line clip (2) from the generator stud and reposition the lines out of the way.




9. Remove the generator through bolt (3).




10. Remove the generator side bolt and stud.
11. Remove the generator.



Installation Procedure





1. Position the generator to the coolant crossover.
2. Loosely install the generator side bolt and stud.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

3. Loosely install the generator through bolt (3).

Tighten the bolts/stud to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).





4. Position the power steering lines and install the power steering line clip (2) to the generator stud.
5. Install the power steering line clip nut (1).

Tighten the nut to 5 N.m (44 lb in).





6. Install the engine wiring harness terminal (2) to the generator stud.
7. Install the engine wiring harness terminal lead to generator nut (1).

Tighten the nut to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

8. Position the engine wiring harness terminal boot (4).
9. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (3).
10. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (Service and Repair) .
11. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair) .
