Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (Service and Repair) .
2. Completely loosen the idler pulley bolt.
3. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LZ4/LY7) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LAT) .
4. Disconnect the generator electrical connector (1).




5. Reposition the battery cable boot then disconnect the battery cable from the generator .
6. Remove the generator bolts and position generator aside.




7. Remove the drive belt idler pulley bolt.
8. Remove the drive belt idler pulley.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the drive belt idler pulley.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice .

2. Install the drive belt idler pulley bolt.

Tighten the drive belt idler pulley bolt to 58 N.m (43 lb ft).





3. Position generator in place then install the generator bolts.
4. Install the battery cable.
5. Install the battery cable boot.




6. Connect the generator electrical connector (1).
7. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (Service and Repair) .
8. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LZ4/LY7) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LAT) .
