Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Solenoid Valve Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the fuel injector sight shield.
2. Disconnect the chassis EVAP pipe (3) quick connect fitting from the EVAP purge solenoid.



3. Disconnect the EVAP emission canister tube quick connect fitting (2) from the EVAP purge solenoid.



4. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (2) from the evaporative emission (EVAP) purge solenoid.




5. Remove the EVAP purge solenoid bracket bolt.
6. Remove the EVAP purge solenoid.

Installation Procedure




1. Position the EVAP purge solenoid.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

2. Install the EVAP purge solenoid bracket bolt.

Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

3. Connect the EVAP pipe quick connect fitting (2) to the EVAP purge solenoid.



4. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (2) to the EVAP purge solenoid.




5. Connect the EVAP emission canister tube quick connect fitting (2) to the EVAP purge solenoid.



6. Connect the chassis EVAP pipe (3) quick connect fitting to the EVAP purge solenoid.
7. Install the fuel injector sight shield.
