DTC P00C7

Diagnostic Instructions

* Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle (Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle) prior to using this diagnostic procedure.
* Review Strategy Based Diagnosis (Strategy Based Diagnosis) for an overview of the diagnostic approach.
* Diagnostic Procedure Instructions (Diagnostic Procedure Instructions)provides an overview of each diagnostic category.

DTC Descriptor
DTC P00C7 00
- Intake Air Pressure Measurement System - Multiple Sensors Not Plausible

Circuit/System Description

The boost pressure sensor is integrated with the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor. The boost pressure sensor measures the range of pressures between the turbocharger and the throttle body. Pressure in this portion of the induction system is affected by the following:

* Engine speed
* Throttle opening
* Turbocharger boost pressure
* Barometric pressure (BARO)
* Efficiency of the charge air cooler

The sensor provides a signal voltage to the engine control module (ECM), relative to the pressure changes, on the boost pressure sensor signal circuit. Under normal operation the greatest pressure that can exist in this portion of the induction system at ignition ON, engine OFF is equal to the BARO. When the vehicle is operated at wide open throttle (WOT) the turbocharger can increase the pressure to near 240 kPa. The least pressure that occurs is when the vehicle is idling or decelerating, and it is equal to the BARO.

Conditions for Running the DTC

* The engine is running.
* This DTC runs continuously within the enabling conditions.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

The ECM detects not plausible boost pressure sensor signal.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

DTCs P00C7 00 is a type C DTCs.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

DTCs P00C7 00 is a type C DTCs.

Diagnostic Aids

Review the freeze frame/failure records with a scan tool.

Circuit/System Verification

1. Engine running, observe the DTC information with a scan tool. DTC P00C7 00 should not set.
2. Operate the vehicle within the conditions for running the DTC to verify the DTC does not reset. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the freeze frame/failure records data.

Circuit/System Testing

1. Verify none of the following conditions exist:

* The air intake duct system for loose connecting clamps, cracks, or other damage
* A damaged Q38 Throttle Body blade or shaft
* Splits, kinks, or improper connections at the vacuum hoses
* Faulty positive crankcase ventilation system operation
* Carbon deposits on the throttle blade. Clean throttle blade as necessary.
* Vacuum leaks at the intake manifold, Q38 Throttle Body, Q17 Fuel Injector O-rings, and B65 Intake Manifold Pressure and Air Temperature Sensor.

2. If all conditions test normal, test the engine for proper camshaft timing.

Repair Instructions

Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification (Verification Tests) after completing the diagnostic procedure.

* Throttle Body Assembly Replacement (1.4L LUH and LUJ) (Removal and Replacement)
* Control Module References (Programming and Relearning)for ECM replacement, setup, and programming
