Sunroof Sunshade Replacement (CF5)
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the sunroof frame from the vehicle. Refer to Sunroof Frame Replacement Service and Repair.
Warning
Approved safety glasses and gloves should be worn when performing this procedure to reduce the chance of personal injury.
2. Use the appropriate tool, drill out the rivets (1) from the sunroof guide tracks.
Note: Do not remove motor/actuator and cable assembly from the sunroof frame.
3. Slide the motor and cable assembly (1) rearward allowing the sunshade to clear.
4. Remove the sunroof sunshade (3) from the sunroof frame as follows:
1. Sliding the sunshade rearward.
2. Lift upward in the rear center of the sunshade until the guide tabs (1) releases the sunroof guide tracks (2).
Installation Procedure
1. Install the sunshade (3) front tabs (1) to the left and right corners of sunroof guide tracks (2).
2. Slide the sunshade forward until all the tabs (1) are inserted in the sunroof guide tracks (2).
3. Ensure that the sunshade is sliding back and forth in the sunroof guide tracks freely.
4. Slide the motor and cable assembly (1) back in place.
5. Use the appropriate tool, install the rivets (1) to the sunroof guide tracks (2).
6. Install the sunroof frame in the vehicle. Refer to Sunroof Frame Replacement Service and Repair.
7. While seated inside the vehicle with the sunshade in the closed position, verify that the front of the sunroof is not bent upward.
8. Perform the Initialization/Teach Process any time the sunroof motor actuator is installed in the vehicle. Refer to Sunroof Motor/Actuator Initialization/Teach Process Testing and Inspection.
9. Before install the interior trim verify all that all position of the sunroof and sunshade assembly are working properly.
