Steering Column Telescope Actuator Replacement

Removal Procedure

Warning: Refer to SIR Warning SIR Warning.


1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Service and Repair.

2. Remove the steering column trim covers. Refer toSteering Column Trim Cover Replacement (Manual) Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement (Manual)Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement (Telescoping) Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement (Telescoping).




3. Remove the retaining screws (1) and (2) from the steering column telescope actuator assembly (3).

4. Disconnect the steering column telescope actuator cable (4) from the steering column telescoping actuator (3).

5. Remove the steering column telescope actuator (3).

Installation Procedure





1. Connect the steering column telescope actuator (3) to the steering column actuator cable (4).

2. Install the steering column telescope actuator (3).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

3. Install the retaining screws (1) and (2) to the steering column telescope actuator assembly (3) and tighten.

4. Install the steering column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement (Manual) Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement (Manual)Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement (Telescoping) Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement (Telescoping).

5. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Service and Repair.
