1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Loosen fan shroud, then remove air cleaner assembly.
3. Remove distributor cap.
4. Raise and support vehicle, then drain oil pan.
5. On manual transmission equipped vehicles, remove starter.
6. Remove torque converter or clutch cover as applicable.
7. Remove oil filter.
8. If equipped with oil pressure gauge, disconnect oil pressure line from side of cylinder block to prevent damaging line.
9. Remove engine mount through bolts, then raise engine.
10. Remove oil pan attaching bolts, then the oil pan.
11. Reverse procedure to install.
