A nylon retainer is used to retain the rocker arm. Break them below their heads with a chisel or pry out with channel locks, Fig. 21. Production rocker arms can be installed in any sequence since the arms are identical.
Replacement rocker arms for all engines are identified with a stamping, right (R) and left (L), Fig. 22 and must be installed as shown in Fig. 23.
