1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Drain cooling system, then remove air cleaner.
3. Disconnect upper radiator and heater hose at manifold.
4. Disconnect accelerator, downshift or throttle valve cables at carburetor.
5. Disconnect brake booster vacuum line from manifold, if applicable.
6. Disconnect fuel line from carburetor.
7. Disconnect all remaining vacuum hoses and electrical connections that will interfere with manifold removal.
8. Remove distributor cap and rotor to gain access to left side torx bolt.
9. Remove A/C compressor and alternator mounting brackets, if applicable.
10. Remove spark plug wires, if necessary, then the accelerator linkage springs.
11. Remove intake manifold attaching bolts, then the intake manifold.
12. Reverse procedure to install using new gasket(s) and seals. Coat seal surface with RTV sealant. Torque manifold bolts to specification in sequence shown in Fig. 8.
