There have been some instances where technicians have not reinstalled the required hose clamp assembly on the lower radiator hose at the outlet side of the water pump on 1978-85 models when a 5.7L V8 Goodwrench diesel engine is installed.

The required hose clamp assembly, P/N 558565, has an attached guard that prevents the air conditioning belt from coming into contact with the hose. With no guard in place, a loose or stretched belt could cut or wear into a lower radiator hose and could cause a coolant leak.
