V8-350 DIESEL ENGINE

1. Remove air cross-over assembly and install suitable screen covers over air inlets, Fig. 55.
2. Disconnect throttle rod from lever by removing retainer and loosen VRV mounting bolts.
3. Install angle gauge adapter J-26701-15 and gauge J-26701-A or equivalent on injection pump lever, rotate lever to wide open throttle position and zero gauge, then center bubble in level.
4. Reset angle gauge to 58°, then rotate throttle lever until bubble is centered in level, Fig. 57.
5. Hold throttle lever position, connect a suitable vacuum gauge to VRV outlet port, and apply constant vacuum of 18-22 inches Hg to valve inlet tube.
6. Adjust VRV until outlet vacuum is 8.5-9 inches Hg with throttle in position established in step 4, then tighten VRV mounting bolts.
7. Remove test equipment, reconnect throttle rod and install air cross-over.
