The seat separator console on 1983-85 Blazers can be modified to improve the appearance of the lid in the closed position and to allow less closure effort. These changes include the addition of a spring under the door middle attaching screw and a new spring at the door compartment stop.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

^ Remove door from console body (See Figure No. 1).

^ Install two (2) washers, P/N 2077521, and spring, P/N 15544536, under the door center attaching screw on the hinge side. The tab on the spring should point away from the hinge side of the console (See Figure No. 1).

^ Discard existing spring at the door compartment stop and install spring P/N 15544543 (See Figure No. 1).

^ Reinstall console door.
